Dumplings

-1 egg
-1 med to small potato
-1 cup flour +
-1/2 tsp baking powder

Bake potato then peel. Moosh up potato.
Add 1 cup of flour and one egg.

work the mixture together
adding more flour in until the dough is the consistency of Playdoh.

Flour the workspace. Take a piece of dough and roll with hands into a rope.
Cut 3/4 inch pieces on a slant.
Drop into salted boiling water.
Boil until they float then fry up in butter and onions, add to soups or drain water and freeze if desired.



Sauerkraut and Pork

-1 pkg Hormel or Tyson's precooked Au Jus pork found hanging in the meat section
-1 qt jar or bag of Sauerkraut
-1 qt+ of water to taste


Mix ingredients and heat.
Add dumplings as prepared above.




Hambone and Beans

-1 bag dry beans; great northern or small lima, anything will do really.
-1 ham bone

soak a bag of beans overnight

Simmer a hambone 2-3 hours (make sure there is some meat on the hambone
Drain water from beans
remove hambone from water and add beans and one finely chopped onion
Cut meat off bone and add to water as well. If you have more meat add that too.
Cook until beans are soft.



Beef Stew

-1 pkg Hormel or Tyson's precooked beef with gravy *found hanging in the meat section
-1 qt+ of water to taste -Raw vegetables: potatoes, carrots, onions etc.


Mix ingredients and cook until veggies are done.
Be careful not to burn over campfire. Veggies can be
steamed or boiled before going into the stew to hurry prepare the meal faster
